PCJ offers a full lesson program to meet the needs of any rider. We believe that riding is only part of the whole equestrian experience. That's why we teach horsemanship and general equine information to all of our riders.
Basic lessons for novice (beginner) riders are carried out by one of our assistant instructors. Each instructor has been through the PCJ lesson and training program, has shown extensively, has owned horses, and above all, is a good communicator and likes working with new students. Beginners learn balance; how to use their natural aids (hands, legs, seat); and how to safely ride at the walk, trot and canter.
Intermediate lessons with Katie and Joe are the next step to becoming a true rider, not just a passenger. Here the rider learns to use all their skills to successfully build a confident partnership with the horse. Correct equitation is practiced, and the rider learns how to influence the horse's way of going through effective aids. Jumping courses are introduced.
Lesson Program
Advanced lessons with Katie and Joe concentrate on preparing for competition, perfecting equitation, learning how to conquer technical courses, and mastering difficult jumping challenges.
